You are Powerful

   Ok, so there's this game I play with some friends and people I know from college. We are all together in the same guild and have a group chat in WhatsApp since the chat service in the game is pretty much poop. Usually, we have a great time talking and giving each other advice. We've had some problems but it's nothing talking can't solve.  Though, recently I (that by the way, am the captain of the guild -oh, yeah. We are talking pro player here, babe (not really-) had a pretty serious discussion with one of the members and that, had me thinking for a while. 

   It all started because I'm a vegetarian, planning to someday go vegan, and I've been trying to convince a friend of mine to get inform so maybe she decides to go vegan/vegetarian too, so I decided to talk about it with her. Nothing can go wrong this way, does it? Well, there's always some way it can all go wrong, folks. I decided to talk about it on the group chat. There's nothing wrong about expressing your opinions with other people, unless the people you're sharing you opinions with like to make a big deal and fight over everything... And guess what? (fml)
  
   My friend was open-minded about the whole situation but this other member started saying she didn't like vegans because they "only looked at one side of the coin" and that either way, we all pollute so we're not the solution. Of course that was fucking annoying, like what do you even know about vegans? I explained to her that what vegans try to do is do the least damage they can, which can be done by not using animals products, of course we all pollute. Just breathing creates CO2, only way I don't pollute is by fucking dying. You would think things would end there but this member kept bullshitting about how vegans are hypocrites because they either way pollute and that she doesn't even try since it's not worth it over and over and fucking over again. After like, half and hour I got tired of her nonsense so the last thing I said to her was: "I don't agree with you. I don't feel like an hypocrite and neither think that about vegans and people that try to help the planet, even if it's "not that much". I know I'm not saving the world like some superhero but I'm helping and I'm proud of it". She, then, kept bullshitting until everyone stopped replying to her (yeah, there were more people discussing and yeah, no one agreed with her, plop).

   So, why did I decide to write about this? It's not because I want no ridicule her, at all. People have opinions. They may or may not be correct but it's theirs and you shouldn't judge them or force them to think the way you do. I just decided to take the time to tell this story because it lead me to think about us as humans. Some people do not think that a sole person can do much but I think they can. As an example, veganism used to be a pretty rare and unknown thing but nowadays it's pretty common. It has been spreading more and more by people who decide to get informed. A person not eating meat may not seem like much, but imagine lots and lots of people doing the same. They are making a change. Isn't it amazing?! It all starts with someone. Every person has so much power and if they are willing to change things, they can. People shouldn't feel let down by this kind of people that just wants to prove you wrong. You should always be willing to keep trying and not give up on the things you believe in.
